I am going through some files of my kids from the summer today. Yes, I have cropping, editing, and ordering to do…but afterall, I am still a mom and I got into this business via a love of photographing my baby girl…who turned 4 this summer! Gosh, the time is going by so fast. I can still remember clear in my mind her picture of her frist day of Mom’s Day Out, her cute denim jeans, cream shirt, and brown sandles that squeaked with a butterfly on them! She still love “long-pants” – guess she comes by it honestly, since I live in my jeans, even in the summer…and her love for animals, especially horses has not ceased through the years. Nor has her dislike for the camera, but bribery is beginning to sink in with her (and me!) Here’s my little girl on her first day of pre-school. UGH, I can’t believe her next first day of school pic will be the first day of kindergarten. I am not sure where this year will lead, but I challenge you to hug your kids tighter today…and don’t miss a “moment” that you are blessed with. Today, I praise God for all my moments…

So, I had a few extra minutes this morning and decided to grab a Starbucks on my way to the office. Okay, for those of you that have had the pleasure of visiting my studio and my home…you know there is nothing on the way to my office. Okay, not nothing but just a few pastures, a golf course, the beautiful sunrise, all the sunflowers in bloom, usually a few turkeys, always deer and the lake! So, when I say, “I decided to grab a Starbucks on my way…” – what I really mean is I drove 12 minutes passed the road to turn on for my studio to grab a Starbucks and then back-tracked back to the office!

So, I am in line at Starbucks and always laugh at the southern-twang…why is it so much heavier and we are literally 15 minutes to Keller? I mean, most of my clients are “city-folk” that don’t live too far from me…but we’re in a time-warp out here…us country/lake/golf-coursing loving people! Sorry…so I am in line at Starbucks and I hand the lady my credit card for my $4.33 cup of coffee…yes, I am out of cash (sorry Dave Ramsey!) I notice her look at my card and I am like…um, yes? She says, “oh, I have seen your photography! It’s good stuff…” So, it’s great that she recognizes my name, from where I have no idea…and it’s even greater that it’s “great stuff…”

Thank you Starbucks lady…you have made my day.
